After airport pick up, we will start our trip with a Turkish tea or coffee so we can get to know each other a little. All set up and curious we will get lost in Antakya Old City Center followed by a nice and cozy dinner in a restaurant from the city center.
How can we better understand the history of Antakya if not in Hatay Archeology Museum?
The museum that became world largest mosaic museum as per the latest discoveries. Starting from Homo sapiens period the museum takes us to a journey through all periods until Islamic periods. Impressive mosaic collections dating from Roman Empire or Hittites artifacts are few of the things that will delight our journey here.
Our journey continues with St Peter Church were we will take our spiritual lesson in the place where he first preached about Christianity.
We could not continue our historical immersion without having also a great lunch in one of Antakya’s oldest restaurants, Hatay Sultan Sofrasi.
Habibbi Neccar Mosque – first Mosque in Anatolia will be also waiting for us with interesting stories after lunch.
Dinner will take place in Dafne waterfalls followed by a desert in Meclis Kunefe – a historical place with the best kunefe we have ever tried.
Another day to remember will start with breakfast outside the hotel, in the middle of the nature. And if you still want more nature, today is the day as St Simeon Church will offer us not only impressive ruins but also breathtaking landscapes.
Next stop Vafliki village, the single Armenian village left in Turkey. Here it seems the time stopped and we will have our time to just relax, enjoy some homemade lunch, and have a Turkish tea or coffee near Tree of Moses wondering if the legend of this tree is real and if we will live forever only by drinking the water that flows near the tree.
One more stop today and we will visit Vespasianus Titus Tunnel, build in the first century during Vespasian, Titus and Antoninus Pius ages, a tunnel that could deviate water even nowadays due to its well preservation.
For dinner we will head to Adana to taste the famous Adana kebab and to be a step closer to Cappadocia.
A short ride will take us to discover Cappadocia where will arrive just in time for a 5 hours tour in the area having as main objectives the Kaymakli Underground City and Goreme open air museum
In the evening we will have a short walk into the city, a local dinner and prepare ourselves for the morning famous Cappadocia sunrise.
From early morning we will enjoy the spectacular sunrise of Cappadocia either from a hot air balloon either over a coffee on one of city’s terraces.
Breakfast and the way back to Antakya – lunch will be accommodated in the way. In Antakya you will enjoy some free time for shopping or we can help with some suggestions as: few hours in a SPA or a visit into an olive oil factory.
Today we just want to hear your impressions, your suggestions and have a last tea together. Transfer to airport will be provided for each of you.
